LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- An indicted Hollywood private investigator says he won't testify in his own defense during his federal wiretapping trial in Los Angeles.

Anthony Pellicano is accused of using illegal tactics to gather dirt for Hollywood A-list clients.
Anthony Pellicano is acting as his own lawyer. His decision on Wednesday comes after days of speculation about whether he would take the stand. He previously told a judge he might testify.
The 64-year-old Pellicano is accused of running a criminal enterprise that used wiretaps and other clandestine tactics to dig up dirt to help his clients gain an advantage in legal and other disputes.
Pellicano and four co-defendants have pleaded not guilty to a variety of charges.
Among high-profile Hollywood figures called during the prosecution's case were Chris Rock, Garry Shandling, Keith Carradine, Paramount studio head Brad Grey and Michael Ovitz, the former superagent and Disney executive. E-mail to a friend ![]()
